Graduate School of Agriculture Science

Message from the Dean of the graduate school

It has been three years since the establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture in April 2019. During this time, we have concluded mutual cooperation agreements with Gunma Prefecture, JA Group Gunma, the Gunma Food Industry Association, Chiba University, and local companies and have been actively engaged in educational and research activities.
In order to implement consistent undergraduate to graduate education and research as well as graduate school education and research for working adults that would benefit the region, a year before the completion of the undergraduate program, we applied to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, requesting the simultaneous establishment of a Master’s Program (2 years) and Doctoral Program (3 years) of the Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Department of Agricultural Science. Their establishment in April 2022 was approved.
Based on the founding spirit of our university “to contribute to the health and welfare of mankind”, the Graduate School of Agricultural Science would like to reinforce the philosophy of the Faculty of Agriculture, where you can learn a wide range of things, from the basics of food and agriculture to advanced technology related to production and processing, and even social implementation. We want to train highly specialized professionals and researchers while conducting more advanced and cutting-edge research. For this reason, moving forward we would like to actively welcome not only undergraduate students who wish to go on to higher education, but also working adults involved in research and development.

Dean of the Graduate School of Agricultural Science (Professor/ Engineering/ Ph.D.)
